§ Mr. TOUCHEasked the Secretary to the Treasury whether in the Paddington district certain private residents who had sent cheques in payment of Income Tax had the cheques returned with a request that payment might be withheld; and, if so at whose instigation, and under what authority, did the Income Tax collector so act?
§ Mr. HOBHOUSEI have no knowledge of such a thing having taken place. If the hon. Member will furnish me with particulars of a specific case I will cause inquiry to be made.
