HC Deb 26 April 1911 vol 24 cc1932-3W
Mr. STUART-WORTLEY

asked the Secretary for the Home Department whether, in order to save candidates for assistant inspectorships of quarries residing in Cornwall and other distant counties the expense of travelling to London, he will arrange that examinations for such assistant inspectorships should be held locally in convenient provincial centres?

Mr. CHURCHILL

It is the intention to hold a separate examination in each of the six divisions into which the country will ultimately be divided for inspection purposes, and a statement to that effect appears in the memorandum on these appointments which is being issued for the information of applicants.
