§ Mr. CHIOZZA MONEYasked the President of the Local Government Board with reference to the proposal of the Northamptonshire County Council to raise a loan of £180 for the purpose of making an advance of that amount to the Wollaston Small Holdings Society, Limited, under Section 49 (2) of the Small Holdings and Allotments Act, 1908, in connection with small holdings at Strixton, if he will state why there has been delay in the matter; and if he is now in a position to consent-to the loan?
§ Mr. BURNSThe delay has been due to a large extent to the fact that the proposal of the County Council originally was to proceed under Section 8 of the Act. It was necessary to point out that procedure under that Section was impracticable, and the Board suggested procedure under Section 49 as the only possible alternative. When the necessary particulars are received for the purposes of such procedure, the regulations required under the Section shall be made and the advance sanctioned without delay.
