HC Deb 07 April 1911 vol 23 cc2675-6W
Mr. CHARLES BATHURST

asked the hon. Member for Southampton, as representing the First Commissioner of Works, whether, in view of the healthy amusement and unconscious manual self-instruction rendered available for young children in London by the provision in St. James's Park, Battersea Park, and Kensington Gardens of large sand plots for the purpose of digging and the erection of sand castles, he will take steps to afford the same facilities in various parts of Hyde Park prior to the coming summer season?

Mr. DUDLEY WARD

The First Commissioner has every sympathy with the desire of the hon. Member for the extension of sand plots for children; but he is not prepared at present to adopt his suggestion as regards Hyde Park.
