§ Mr. BURNSWithout allowance for empties, compounding, and so forth, a rate one penny in the pound, calculated on the assessable value for the purposes of the Poor Rate, would represent in England about £817,136, and in Wales about £38,339. I must refer the hon. Member to the Lord Advocate for the figures as regards Scotland.
