§ Mr. WHELERasked the First Lord of the Admiralty what were the methods taken on the reopening of the establishment in His Majesty's dockyards to select men for establishment who had passed the age limit during the suspension period; and whether, in the event of the refusal of any of the men first selected to accept the establishment agreement, steps were again taken to fill the vacancies by the selection of men who, though eligible in other respects, were above the age limit?
§ Mr. McKENNAThe age disqualification was waived in the cases of the men referred to in filling the vacancies which became immediately available. With regard to the second part of the question, so far as can be ascertained there was only one such case, and in respect of it the reply is in the affirmative.
