HC Deb 04 April 1911 vol 23 cc2158-9W
Mr. PERKINS

asked the Home Secretary why legislation for the proper care and treatment of pit ponies, as promised, has not been embodied in the Coal Mines Bill; and whether he is prepared to accept amendments of the Bill framed with this object?

Mr. CHURCHILL

I would refer the hon. Member to Clause 87 of the Bill, where, in accordance with the recommendation contained in the Third Report of the Royal Commission on Mines, it is proposed to take power to make regulations to provide for the care and treatment of horses and other animals used in mines.
