§ Sir E. STRACHEYThe amount of land taken under the Small Holdings Act is 230 acres, which is let to eight tenants. The number of applicants was originally ninety-six, of whom twenty-eight have either withdrawn their applications, or not been approved, or obtained land by private arrangement.
