Mr. POINTERasked the Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies whether all things connected with the Trinidad Board of Agriculture, its accounts, its doings, and its projects are kept secret; and, if so, whether, seeing that the Department has now been in existence some two years, this state of things is intended to be permanent?
§ Colonel SEELYThe Board of Agriculture, established by Ordinance No. 35 of 1908, is intended to advise the Department of Agriculture of the Colony. The Department publishes an annual report of its proceedings. The Secretary of State has no information as to the publicity of the Board's deliberations, but he doubts whether it would as a rule be advisable that those deliberations should take place in public. The accounts of the Board are submitted to and audited by the Auditor-General of the Colony.
