§ Mr. BOTTOMLEYasked what progress has been made with the inquiry into the loss of the "Waratah"; and whether the evidence already taken abroad throws any light upon the cause of the disaster?
Mr. BUXTONThe greater part of the evidence respecting the loss of the "Waratah" has been collected, but the remainder must be obtained before the inquiry can be properly held. As some of this evidence is to come from vessels now abroad, I fear some time must yet elapse before the case is complete. I am unable at this stage to give any information as to the nature of the evidence collected.
