§ Mr. RAWLINSONasked the President of the Board of Education whether his attention has been called to the case of the headmaster of the Littleport School, 1403W in the Isle of Ely, who is likely to be compelled to resign his post owing to his qualifications not complying with certain regulations; whether his attention has been called to the excellent and successful work done by the schoolmaster; and whether he can see his way to allowing him to continue to hold his appointment, at all events for the present?
§ Mr. RUNCIMANThe answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. With regard to the second and third parts of the question, I believe that the work of this teacher has been satisfactory, but I am afraid that I cannot see my way to making an exception to the requirements of the Code in his favour.
