HC Deb 28 April 1910 vol 17 c772W
Mr. FELL

asked the President of the Board of Trade if he can supply particulars of the foreign firms which have opened factories in Great Britain since the date of the coming into force of the Patents Act; and if he can supply any estimate of the amount of capital expended by these firms on their factories?

Mr. BUXTON

During the two years which have elapsed since the Patents and Designs Act, 1907, came into force, no doubt many foreign firms have opened factories in Great Britain, some in consequence of the Act and some for other reasons, but there are no means of stating the number of such firms or the amount of capital expended by them on their factories.
