HC Deb 28 April 1910 vol 17 c774W
Captain FABER

asked the Postmaster-General if he can state whether any pension can be given to the widow of George Wheable, late postman at Longparish, Hampshire, who after twelve years' service and having gained two good conduct stripes, died from reported overwork, and just too soon for the ordinary provision in such cases as regards money assistance?

Mr. HERBERT SAMUEL

Under the Superannuation Act of last year a gratuity of £73 8s. 10d. has already been awarded to the legal representatives of George Wheable. I will make inquiry as to the alleged overwork.
