HC Deb 28 April 1910 vol 17 c739W
Mr. NUTTALL

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether the annual value of a house, as required for Section B in Schedule E of the Income Tax Return, is the same amount as that fixed by the overseers as the gross annual value?

Mr. LLOYD GEORGE

No, Sir.

Mr. HARMOOD-BANNER

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will consider the advisability of making an early announcement of the rate of Income Tax to be levied for the years 1910 and 1911, in view of the difficulty and inconvenience caused to railway and other companies by any late date of announcement in the preparatory work of making out the warrants for dividends and interest due in July?

Mr. LLOYD GEORGE

It would be contrary to all precedent for me to make any such announcement in anticipation of my Financial Statement.
