EARL of RONALDSHAYasked the President of the Board of Trade the value of the pianos manufactured in the United Kingdom, and also in the Commonwealth of Australia, during the last year for which figures are available?
Mr. BUXTONThe tabulation of the Returns in respect of the manufacture of musical instruments in the United Kingdom obtained under the Census of Production Act is not yet completed, but when the information is available I will put it at the disposal of the Noble Lord. The Australian Returns with regard to the manufacture of musical instruments do not contain separate information as regards pianos.
