HC Deb 27 April 1910 vol 17 c618W
Mr. GODFREY COLLINS

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty if he can state the cost in the German Navy Estimates for 1910–11 which corresponds to our Votes 1, 2, 13, and 14, being the cost of wages of officers and men, victualling, clothing, half-pay, and pensions, which amount to £12,194,600 in our Naval Estimates?

Mr. McKENNA

The cost in the German Navy Estimates which corresponds to our Votes 1 and 2 is:—

Vote 1 £2,357,415
Vote 2 £754,285

These figures are given with the qualification that, owing to the form in which the German Estimates are presented, material inaccuracies may have arisen in the separation of the various items. There are no items in the German Navy Estimates corresponding to our Votes 13 and 14. The figure quoted as appearing in our Navy Estimates is £50,000 short of the actual figure.
