§ Mr. F. E. SMITHasked the President of the Board of Education whether the temporary mitigation he is prepared to give to schools complaining of the ten-feet rule is determined solely by the immediate difficulty of carrying the requirements of the Education Office into effect; and whether he will indicate more specifically the circumstances under which, and the length of time for which a temporary indulgence may be expected?
§ Mr. RUNCIMANThe answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. With regard to the second part of the question I am not prepared to commit myself to a category of circumstances. The Board are prepared to consider any representations that may be made to them, and each case will be dealt with on its merits.
