§ Mr. O'DOWDasked the Chief Secretary whether, in view of the peaceful condition of the county Sligo, he will now consider the advisability of having the extra police stationed in Riverstown, Bunninad-den, and Ballymote withdrawn, thereby relieving the ratepayers of any unnecessary expense involved?
§ Mr. BIRRELLThe extra police force in the county was reduced by ten men in January last, and a further reduction is in contemplation. The force at the places named in the question will be correspondingly reduced. The state of the county does not yet permit of the total withdrawal of the extra force.
