§ Mr. CHURCHILLThe total number of persons injured in the streets in the Metropolitan Police District last year is not at present available, and would take some time to compile. But 16,842 accidents caused by vehicles and resulting in personal injury are known to the police to have occurred during 1909. Of these, 306 cases ended fatally.
