HC Deb 20 April 1910 vol 16 c2275W
Mr. MIDDLEMORE

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty how many British and German fully-commissioned armoured ships, respectively, are permanently based in the North Sea?

Mr. McKENNA

The numbers for Germany are sevens—to be shortly increased to nine. British fully-commissioned armoured ships are not permanently based in the North Sea. They use the bases there in common with other bases in Home waters.
