§ The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for the Home Department (Caroline Flint)In accordance with Section 20(5) of the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986, I have placed the Committee's annual report for 2003 in the Library today. Among other things the report includes advice given by the Committee to Ministers about applications for licences to perform particular experiments on animals; results of research projects funded by the Home Office on the Committee's advice; and advice presented to Ministers on how to assess more accurately the costs and benefits of animal experimentation.
