§ The Minister for Europe (Mr. Denis MacShane)The United Kingdom will hold the Presidency of the European Union from 1 July until 31 December 2005. During that period my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister will chair two meetings of the European Council: on 27–28 October 2005 and 15–16 December 2005. Both meetings will take place in Brussels.
