To ask the Secretary of State for Defence how many C130J Hercules have been delivered; and how many serviceable engines there are; how many C130J Hercules aircraft are grounded because of a shortage of(a) spares and (b) software; and if he will make a statement. [134276]

Twenty five Hercules C-130J aircraft have been delivered to the RAF.

The RAF currently holds 81 serviceable engines. At 09.00 hours 24 October 2003, five Hercules C130-J aircraft were unavailable to Front Line Commanders while awaiting spares.
