To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer (1) what estimate he has made of the revenue which would be raised from petrol and diesel duty if pump prices rose to 90 pence a litre on average in the week beginning 17 May and stayed at that price for the rest of 2004–05; [174568]

(2) what the tax take is from each additional one penny on the litre price of fuel at the pumps; [174569]

(3) what estimate he has made of the amount of tax revenue which the Government would raise from petrol and diesel if pump prices remain at their current level for the rest of the financial year; [174570]

(4) what his latest forecast is for the revenue from all taxes on petrol and diesel for 2004–05; [174571]

(5) what the Budget forecast was for all tax revenues on petrol and diesel for 2004–05. [174572]

The forecast revenue from fuel duty is published in table C.8 of the 2004 Financial Statement and Budget Report (HC 301). Estimates of the impact of duty changes were published in "Tax Ready Reckoner and Tax Reliefs", alongside the 2003 pre-Budget report (Cm 6042). Reliable estimates of the impact of changes in prices are not available.
