To ask the Secretary of State for Transport how much of the £263 million cited in1002W paragraph 5.14 on page 52 of his Department's Annual Report 2004 comes through the Rural Bus Subsidy Grant and Rural and Urban Bus Challenge. [174167]

§ Mr. McNulty
In 2002–03, this Department paid a total of £74.7 million to local authorities under its three bus grant schemes. This consisted of £47.3 million under the Rural Bus Subsidy Grant, £18.2 million under the Rural Bus Challenge and £9.2 million under the Urban Bus Challenge.
