§ Angela SmithThe Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety is not planning to allocate funds specifically for the development of treatment and care of Alzheimer's sufferers. Allocations are made on the basis of Programmes of Care for different classes of patients and clients, rather than specific conditions. Decisions about funding for treatment and care are made by Health and Social Services Boards in light of local priorities and available resources.
