To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department when part 10 of the Criminal Justice Act 2003 will be brought into force. [169161]

We are working towards implementation of the retrial provisions contained in part 10 of the Criminal Justice Act 2003 and will bring this part of the Act into force as soon as practicable.

No final decision has yet been made but the current aim is to bring the hearsay provisions in the Criminal Justice Act 2003 into force as soon as possible.
