To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Skills how many 14 and 15-year-olds are studying for(a) NVQs and (b) vocational GCSEs. [171245]

The Department does not collect data on the numbers of 14 and 15-year-olds presently studying NVQs and GCSEs in vocational subjects. Rather the Awarding Bodies makes available data on the numbers of entries and the results thereof for particular qualifications. This information is routinely placed in the House of Commons Library in the autumn.
