Letter from Len Cook to Mr Eric Forth, dated 31 March 2004: As National Statistician, I have been asked by the Chancellor of the Exchequer to reply to your request for information on migration into the UK, and out of the UK, for each year since 2000. (163053) The most recent year for which data are available is 2002. The attached table shows in-migration, out-migration and net migration for the UK, for the years 2000–2002. The table shows migration by citizenship, with British citizens and non-British citizens shown separately.
