To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Skills if he will make a statement on the integration of citizenship, personal and social education across the curriculum. [164186]

Citizenship is a statutory subject in secondary schools. The teaching of personal, social and health Education (PSHE) is underpinned by a non-statutory framework across all key stages. Schools have flexibility on how they plan and deliver citizenship and PSHE, whether as discrete areas of the curriculum or integrated across the curriculum. The Qualifications and Curriculum Authority produce a range of guidance documents across citizenship and PSHE.
