To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer how many senior citizens in Crosby qualified for the 10p rate of income tax it each year since its introduction. [160581]

All income taxpayers benefit from the 10p pence starting rate. The Survey of Personal Incomes estimates there are about 8,000 stale retirement pension age taxpayers in the Crosby constituency in 2000–01. Constituency level estimates are not available for earlier years.
