To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what assessment he has made of militia violence in the Katanga province of the Democratic Republic of Congo. [159254]

Recent reports of militia violence in the Katanga province of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) relate to a number of attacks by a renegade militia group since the beginning of this year. The UN Mission in the DRC is in the process of investigating. We deplore all violence against innocent civilians.
