NATO has consulted the United Kingdom, and all other allies, as it has developed plans for the expansion of the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan. In addition, my right honourable friends the Prime Minister, the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs and the Secretary of State for Defence all met the NATO Secretary-General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer on 12 February 2004; their discussions included Afghanistan.
