HC Deb 14 June 2004 vol 422 c725W
Mrs. Helen Clark

To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions (1) what assessment he has made of the number of people who would be protected from discrimination if the recommendations in paragraphs 79, 88 and 99 of the report of the Joint Committee on the Draft Disability Discrimination Bill were to be accepted; [177653]

(2) when he expects to publish the Disability Discrimination Bill. [177654]

Maria Eagle

We have made no such assessment. We are still considering the recommendations of the Joint Committee on the draft Disability Discrimination Bill, which were published on 27 May 2004. We will respond as soon as possible. The timing of the introduction of the Bill is a matter to be determined by Business Managers in the usual way.
