What is the value of United Kingdom exports of defence equipment to the United States and the value of similar United States imports into the United Kingdom in the last year for which figures are available. [HL2997]

The value of identified goods exported to individual countries is published in the Government'sAnnual Report on Strategic Export Controls. Copies of these reports, the most recent covering the calendar year 2002, are available from the Library of the House and via the Foreign and Commonwealth office website www.fco.gov.uk. In 2002, the value of identified defence imports into the United Kingdom from the United States was £867 million.
