Whether troops from other states, including states within the Commonwealth, have mounted guard at Buckingham Palace; if so, when; and which states were involved. [HL3907]

The privilege of guarding the sovereign is extended to Commonwealth countries only. The following nations have provided the Queen's Guards in the past five years:

  • Australia July 2001
  • Canada September 2000
  • Jamaica April 1999.
