To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry whether a target has been set for the number of proceedings to be brought in the public interest for disqualification of company directors. [145380]

As announced by my predecessor, the Member for Welwyn Hatfield (Miss Johnson), to the House on 28 March 2003,Official Report, column 30-31WS, no numerical targets are set for the disqualification of company directors.

The Insolvency Service is expected to bring proceedings in every case where it is in the public interest.
