To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions how many people have received winter fuel payments in(a) the Jarrow constituency, (b) South Tyneside, (c) Tyne and Wear, (d) the north-east and (e) the UK in respect of 2003–04; and what the value of such payments is in each case. [153227]

In formation on individual constituencies for 2003–04 will not be available until this winter's exercise is complete but will be provided to the hon. Member and placed in the Library when it becomes available.

To date, there have been 11,606,326 winter fuel payments made to UK residents for the winter 2003–04 at a cost of £1,937,989,500.
