To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department pursuant to his Answer of 12 January 2004,Official Report, column 502W, on Cheadle Royal Hospital, what steps he has taken to satisfy himself that (a) all the income received by the charity has been applied to the properly authorised charitable purposes and (b) all the assets of the charity have been sold or reassigned in accordance with charity law, with particular reference to section 36(8) of the Charities Act 1993. I confirmed in my Answers of 8 December 2003,Official Report, column 766W and 12 January 2004,Official Report, column 502W, that neither the Charity Commission nor the Greater Manchester police have found evidence of charitable income or assets being inappropriately used by the trustees of Cheadle Royal Hospital.
