To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will list the requirements imposed on Eastern Europeans seeking to enter or remain in the United Kingdom pursuant to(a) European Community Association agreements and (b) the BRACE policy. [161619]

[holding answer 15 March 2004]The requirements for entry are set out in the Immigration Rules at Paragraphs 211–216. The requirements to extend stay are set out at Paragraphs 217–221 and the requirements for settlement are set out at Paragraphs 222–223. The current Immigration Rules are HC 395 (as amended).

I would refer the hon. Member to the Written Ministerial Statement my predecessor, my right hon. Friend, the member for Stretford and Urmston (Beverley Hughes) made on the 12 March.
