§ Ruth KellyThe Treasury has been involved in discussions on the benefits and costs of a national ID cards scheme, co-ordinated by the Home Secretary. The introduction of such a scheme is a long-term undertaking, and the Treasury will continue to be involved with ongoing analysis.
