Caroline Flint

The confiscation powers in the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 are triggered by offences committed after the provisions were brought into force on 24 March 2003, so it will he some time before confiscation cases are dealt with by the Crown Court in numbers. To date, two convicted offenders have been made the subject of confiscation orders under the Act in England and Wales with a total value of £53,000.
