HL Deb 08 September 2003 vol 652 cc8-9WA
Lord Lester of Herne Hill

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they intend to give a high priority to amending the Parliamentary Commissioner Act 1967 so as to create a direct right of public access to the Parliamentary Ombudsman, without the need for intervention by a Member of Parliament. [HL3994]

Lord Williams of Mostyn

The Government's position is set out in the response to the Public Administration Select Committee's report on Ombudsman Issues, published on 22 July. A copy has been sent to the noble Lord.
