HC Deb 23 October 2003 vol 411 c712W
John Barrett

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement on the peace process between Eritrea and Ethiopia. [133762]

Mr. Mullin

The current situation in the peace process is that the Boundary Commission set up under the Algiers Agreement has made a decision on the position of the boundary between Ethiopia and Eritrea, which is legally binding. We and the UN Security Council, most recently in Resolution 1507 of 12 September 2003, have called on both parties to implement this fully.
