To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer when he next plans to meet the new Governor of the Bank of England to discuss the Chancellor's Budget forecasts on the public sector deficit for 2004–05. [132074]

§ Ruth Kelly
The Chancellor meets the Governor of the Bank of England regularly to discuss various issues concerning the British economy, including the public finances. In addition, a representative from HM Treasury attends each of the monthly meetings of the Monetary Policy Committee.
