§ Mr. Touhig[holding answer 10 November 2003]In the 2002 Spending Review, the Government allocated an additional £251 million in 2003–04, £925 million in 2004–05 and £1,765 million in 2005–06 to Wales in accordance with the long standing Barnett formula. This included the allocations for health of £140/516/931 million announced by the Chancellor in his spring 2002 Budget.
The allocation of public expenditure on services such as health is a matter for the National Assembly for Wales.
