To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Skills what discussions he had with colleagues from other departments on variants of a graduate tax as alternatives to fund higher education. [138549]

My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State has had a number of discussions with colleagues across Government on all aspects of the proposals set out in the recent in the White Paper "The future of higher education" (Cm 5735).
