To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will make a statement on the recent increase in fuel duty. [136265]

My right hon. Friend, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, announced the increase in fuel duty in his Budget statement in April.
Following that announcement, the legislation implementing this change was debated in Parliament as part of the Finance Bill, which received Royal Assent on 10 July and it took effect on 1 October.
