What has been the cost of the formal investigation into the Prison Service by the Commission for Racial Equality; and when the report is likely to be published. [HL1864]

I am advised by the commission that it intends to publish a report on the formal investigation into the Prison Service as soon as practicable.

It is estimated that the costs thus far incurred by the commission are in the region of £630,000.
