§ Clare ShortThe route of the security fence and its effects on the Palestinian people are unacceptable. The route taken will have a severe impact on Palestinian water rights and access to water resources in Jayyous and other towns and villages near the Green Line. We have made representations at the highest level, both bilaterally and through the EU, to the Government of Israel.

§ Clare ShortThe security fence has already severely disrupted the lives of many Palestinians, separating them from their land, water and communities. British funded development projects have not so far been affected, but we will continue to monitor closely this aspect, and the situation more generally.
